Discover a new belt around Saturn
The Cassini probe cameras have discovered a new belt around Saturn, according to scientists at the US Space Agency (NASA).
This new belt is quite thin, visible outside of the larger brighter belts of Saturn. It lies between the G and E belts, the same orbit as Saturn's Janus and Epimetheus moons.
Scientists believe that collisions between meteorites on Janus and Epimetheus could fire particles on the surface of these moons and bring them into orbit, but they were surprised when the new belt exist in this position again.
So far, according to scientists, there are seven main rings around Saturn named from A to G. In the next few weeks, many groups of scientists will analyze the data collected by Cassini to find understand more about the relationship between Saturn's rings and moons.
