Discover new lizard species in Cao Bang
Scientists have announced new lizards based on specimens collected in limestone mountains in Cao Bang province.

The new species called zug Thach zap Hemiphyllodactylus zugi Nguyen, Lehmann, Le, Duong, Bonkowski & Ziegler, 2013. It is named after the American researcher Professor George Zug, working at the Smithsonian Research Institute. He has many contributions to reptile research in Asia.
According to the website of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST), zug flat geckos can be flat, small in size with a head and body length of about 41-47 mm; short tail. It has a light-colored strip that runs from the back of the eye to the shoulders, the top and bottom edges of the dark gray stripes.
The species was published in Zootaxa, New Zealand this month.
