Discover rare and precious rainbow snails
Scientists at Chulalongkorn University in Thailand and at the British Museum of Natural History have published a study of a rare and colorful seven-color snail.
Although newly discovered, this type of mollusks is in danger of extinction. The rainbow-colored snail only exists in Thailand and is one of three newly discovered Perrottetia snails in the North and Northeast mountains of the country.

They live in limestone ecosystems, take small snails, insect larvae and earthworms as food.The limestone ecoregion is a land of destruction to an alarming level in the world.In Thailand, there are about 50% of the limestone ecoregions have been or are being destroyed.
Scientists believe that the newly discovered three types of Perrottetia snails show that such characteristic of morphology is a good example of the study of evolution in an unstable environment.
