Later, Scottish knight William Wallace also took refuge in this monastery. This is the place that is supposed to be the prototype in Hollywood movie 'Braveheart'.

According to information from the ancient whiskey distilleries, it dates back to 1494.

"The Lindores monastery has long been considered a place of historical value for whiskey production. The latest discovery underscores its importance ," McKenzie Smith, the relics manager Lindores monastery said.
