Discovered strange elephant shrews in Kenya
The scientists were stunned when their automatic cameras were placed in the old jungle in Kenya and captured a giant elephant shrew. This is a strange mammal. They have a long, flexible nose like a hose, discovered in the Boni Dodori forest in northeastern Kenya.
These cameras are automatically set up by scientist Grace Wambui, a member of the London Wildlife Conservation Program (ZSL), to monitor the life of wildlife in the area.
When the camera captured this image, she could not recognize it as an elephant or a shrew.

Currently only 17 species are known as elephant-shaped shrews, and only in Africa. Scientists believe that the animal they captured was a new species.
Dr Rajan Amin, a senior doctor at the London Wildlife Conservation Program, said the image of the elephant shrew is a special discovery. ' All team members are extremely happy with this new discovery, ' said Dr Rajan.
' We will continue our new research process to confirm the biodiversity of this forest and to determine if this is a new species of the shrews ' family.'
' Our findings are meant to highlight the importance of preserving these unique coastal forests .'
' Before we could study this forest, there were very few people who knew about it because of security and infrastructure constraints, which were very poor, ' said researcher Sam Andanje of the ZSL program. know.
' The discovery of this new species will increase the significance of preserving this isolated forest '.
' Unfortunately, this forest is being seriously violated due to rapid seawater intrusion, and now is the time to make an urgent request for a plan to control the forest ', he said. said.
