Detect rats like elephants

According to Reuters, biological researchers in Kenya have discovered a strange mammal of small size like mice but have a long nose like an elephant's in a remote forest in Kenya.

On September 21, they saw this rat species on a television in Boni-Dodori forest, along the northeastern coast of Kenya while studying biodiversity.

This animal quickly attracted interest from many people, especially because the long nose could be used to get food like an elephant.

Scientists believe this is an elephant shrew with the scientific name Macroscelidea.

Galen Rathbun of the California Institute of Science said they are taking DNA samples and analyzing genes to see if they are elephant shrews.
