Dogs running, climbing and porters
BigDog quickly became a star after millions of people watched the video about it on the Internet.
This is a product manufactured by Boston Dynamics in accordance with US Department of Defense orders.
The BigDog dog is about the size of a big dog. Its legs consist of three joints similar to the real dog. The joints can change position up to 500 times per second, helping the dog to shake during movement and to adapt to the undulating and sloping terrain. Thanks to that, BigDog can go on the bumpy mountain road that the tires can not go through, and do not make a strong noise.
In tests it can run at 6.4 km / h, climb slopes up to 35 degrees and step over the rubble with 153 kg of cargo on the back.

In the video illustrated on Youtube.com, BigDog succeeded in balancing on uneven terrain after being hit hard. This impressive video has received over 6 million views.
Thanks to a built-in machine, BigDog can balance, navigate and locate in any environment and terrain. The sensors on the robot body monitor the operation status of the motor, power and other parameters.
Current versions are remotely controlled. However, designers are making special cameras so that BigDog can do the basic movements themselves.
