Earthquake survey in Ho Chi Minh City
On November 28, a team of researchers from the Institute of Geophysics began conducting an earthquake survey, which lasted about a week in Ho Chi Minh City.
The research team said it would measure seismic oscillations at many points, in order to assess the relationship between oscillations at the measurement site and recent earthquake vibrations that vibrate many construction works. erected in HCMC area.
The measurement results are the basis for forecasting earthquake vibrations at the measuring locations and also the basis for the standard design of seismic resistance for construction works. In addition, the research team also conducted field surveys on the recent earthquake developments based on information provided by earthquake witnesses.
Dr. Le Tu Son, the head of the earthquake observation institute of the Institute of Geophysics - said: ' I still hold the view that there is no vibration in Ho Chi Minh City because earthquakes happen in this area. . The vibrations are caused by an earthquake off the coast of Vung Tau (about 190km away from Ho Chi Minh City), affecting Ho Chi Minh City '.
