Elon Musk: SpaceX knew why the Falcon 9 rocket exploded
SpaceX CEO Elon Musk said his company found the reason why the Falcon 1 rocket exploded on September 1, causing Facebook's first satellite to be caught.
Musk shared briefly that the incident involved "liquefied helium, carbon fiber materials and solid oxygen". He or SpaceX did not share any other information and was confident that they could return to the sky before the end of the year. The company has not set a specific date to announce the cause officially. A few weeks ago SpaceX said it was focusing on improving the helium loading process so that this problem did not happen again.

Previously people suspected that the cause of the explosion was probably related to solid oxygen. It should have been the amount of oxygen that SpaceX used as a rocket fuel must be liquid, but for some reason the temperature drop was too low, causing them to turn solid and have an unfavorable interaction with compressed helium containers. Three of these tanks are located directly above the oxygen chamber, they are responsible for pouring helium down when oxygen has been used to propel the rocket up. In addition, the rocket is also covered by carbon fiber material, which has ignited the liquid oxygen, leading to a serious explosion.
As for the cause of oxygen being changed from liquid to solid, it may be helium that did it. Helium liquefies at -268 degrees Celsius, while oxygen only needs -218 degrees Celsius to turn into a solid.
