Evidence of UFOs in Renaissance paintings

Many unusual objects in the sky are depicted in the 14th to early 18th century paintings that look very much like unidentified flying objects (UFOs).

According to The Huffington Post, the first case of UFO depiction is the "Jesus crucified on the cross" painting by an anonymous painter painted on the wall at Visoki Decani monastery in Kosovo, Yugoslavia, in 1350. In the painting, two strange objects carrying pilots appeared in the sky on both sides of Jesus.

"Strange details on the left and right of the Kosovo painting can refer to the Sun and the Moon," said Dennis Geronimus, assistant professor of Italian Renaissance painting and chairman of the Department of Art History in the Great. New York, USA, commented.

The simultaneous presence of both the Sun and Moon illustrates some sections of the Gospel, when the sky becomes dark during the day while Jesus is executed, Geronimus said.

In the painting "Annunciation with Saint Emidius" painted by Carlo Crivelli in 1486, a round object emits a beam of light shining on the Virgin Mary. This painting is on display at the National Museum of London, England. "Beaming gold from the cloud down, gradually through a hole in the bedroom wall and shining down on the head of the Mother , " Geronimus said.

The painting "Our Lady, Jesus Christ and Little John", painted by artists from the 15th century and displayed at the Palazzo Vecchio museum in Florence, Italy, provides another proof of UFOs. In this picture, behind Maria, the mother of Jesus, there is a strange object shaped like a disk floating in the clear sky, a man and a dog beside him are standing on a ledge and staring at it.

The final painting entitled "The Purification Ceremony of Jesus" by Arendt de Gelder depicted in 1710 depicts a large circular object, illuminating the Lord. "Four rays of light from the circular disk in the sky shone when Lord Jesus was kneeling for St. John's baptism , " Geronimus said.

"Many details in the above pictures are different from modern UFO images, which suggests that the ancient people believed in the existence of another world or supernatural events, " Geronimus concluded.
