Adrenaline causes the blood vessels in your body to relax, blood and oxygen are transported faster inside your body. More blood flowing through the veins on your face will cause your face to turn red. Some people are more blushed than others, they even have a fear of blushing called erythrophobia .

"Blushing is the most special and most human phenomenon of all our expressions of affection , " said Charles Darwin, a well-known British naturalist researcher.

According to Ray Crozier, a professor at Cardiff University, England, the blushing phenomenon is like a nonverbal apology in social communication. If you do something embarrassing or break social norms, a blushing face indicates that you have realized your mistake.

The sympathetic nervous system works out of human consciousness so you can't control it. Even people who can make themselves cry cannot make themselves blush.
