Explore the strangely abstract space inside musical instruments

Recently, a New Zealand home photographer named Charles Brooks has shared an extremely interesting set of photos of the space and interior textures of popular musical instruments such as piano, cello, flute, trumpet. This gives viewers a new perspective on what we cannot see with the naked eye.

Charles Brooks is a professional orchestral cellist and photographer based in Auckland, New Zealand. Two creative passions have accompanied him since the early days and helped him to have a career like today. Brooks is also an influencer in the photography world, working with Panasonic Lumix and has been one of the first to experience Panasonic's high-end flagship cameras since 2018.

"Musical Architecture" is the latest project of Charles Brooks. This project is a combination of music and photography, depicting an abstract space inside popular musical instruments. From the perspective of Charles Brooks, viewers can see things they have never seen before.

Charles Brooks said that the photos in his project "Musical Architecture" were taken with a macro lens with a focal length of 24mm manufactured by Laowa, mounted on the Lumix S1R body.

"Normal close-up photos are mostly blurred due to the effect of depth of field. I used a technique of focus stacking to keep the whole image in focus. in focus," Brooks told PetaPixel.

For each image, Brooks takes about 100 different images with different focus points, then uses image editing software to stitch them together, creating a fully sharp image. The result is like a large space that fascinates the viewer!
