Explore the world's first underground park

Only a short time later, the subway will no longer be the only underground destination in New York with the appearance of Lowline Park.

On July 14, Vice Mayor Alicia Glen and New York City's Economic Development Group announced their approval of the world's first "underground" park project called Lowline .

According to Tech Insider, located below Manhattan's Lower East Side, this park will serve as a place of relaxation for both the local community and the huge number of tourists coming to New York every year. Many people associate the Lowline with the city's famous High Line park but are in the ground.

Here are some photos of this unique park:

If everything goes according to plan, Lowline is expected to go into operation in 2020 with construction cost of 55 million USD (about 1.2 trillion dong).

Originally the park was built as a collection of small cargo carts in the early years of the 20th century.

They will hardly remember that they are actually underground because of Lowline's "abundance" of sunlight.

During New York's cold winter, most residents and visitors here choose to "hide themselves" in their warm apartments or in local Starbucks.

On a trip to Lowline Labs in late November last year, co-founder of the project, Dan Barasch, shared with Tech Insider, the natural sunlight acquisition is very simple.

The project used mirrors and relied on a telescope-like system to direct the sun's rays downwards.

When in operation, the project founders' plan is to turn Lowline into a multi-purpose space.

New York will still be a "reinforced concrete" city, but now, with Lowline, New Yorkers have a green space to relax after stressful working hours.
