Exploring about the 'aquatic monster' shrimp that is extremely voracious in Vietnam

Dragon shrimp also has another name is lobster without lobster and spiny lobster. This is one of the shrimp species with high economic value and is also known as 'sea monster' in Vietnam.

Dragon shrimp has a scientific name is Palinuridae, is a shrimp family in the sea consisting of more than 60 species including many species of high economic value. They are large in size with a length of 25cm - 40cm and weight about 250g. They have 10 big legs and lots of very sharp spikes.

Dragon shrimp are colorful, in which red is the main color. Two pairs of front antennae are very long, the head and chest are large while the abdomen is small and short. The name dragon shrimp is sometimes easily confused with the type of lobster, also known as dragon shrimp. The species of lobster in Vietnamese waters belong to this family.

Dragon shrimp are active at night, while in the daytime, they hide in rock crevices. They swim otherwise clumsy, their growth rate is slower than other shrimp species due to longer molting process.

However, in Vietnam, dragon shrimp has been evaluated quite badly because they have the habit of digging burrows up to 2m, voracious, multiply rapidly.
