Extract essential oil

A group of scientists from the Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Chemical Technology has researched and perfected the technological process of extracting frankincense essential oil from the wind-tree wood. Under this method, supercritical liquid CO 2 will be used as a solvent for extracting essential oils of frankincense.

After grinding and crushing the ingredients, extracting the essential oil takes only two hours, whereas if following the traditional method, after grinding, it must be soaked, incubated for 2-3 weeks and continuously distilled in 2-3 days. Along with the process of using supercritical liquid CO2, the team has also developed an oil extractor test.

The acceptance committee of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology highly appreciates the results of the project. Mr. Phan Minh Tan, director of the department, said that in the coming time, the City will continue to invest and create conditions for the project team to design and manufacture a distillation machine of large-scale essential oil.

It is known that the current extract of bass oil in Vietnam is still very rudimentary, most of the wind gourd growers (bass-making plants) only sell low in raw form, unprocessed.
