The puffer fish named Mini had to "run out" during the surgery to remove the painful swollen right eye for an hour. The group of continuous surgeons must transfer medicated water through fish gills to keep Mini's skin moist.

Jonny Rudd, Bristol zoo manager, said: "We had to act quickly to help Mini. Its right eye was so swollen that it needed surgery to be removed. The complexity of the area required surgery required I have to do it outside the water, maintaining anesthesia in a terrestrial fish is extremely difficult.

The veterinarians have found a way to remove a broken eye in an hour-long surgery. After the anesthesia has expired, Mini has been brought back to the aquarium, given antibiotics and well fed what he likes. "

After the surgery, Mini has gradually recovered. Currently, this puffer fish seems to still live happily in the aquarium with the left eye left.
