Find out how the Egyptians moved giant stones to 800km to build pyramids

Giza's largest pyramid , dubbed the ancient world natural wonder, remains a great mystery to the world. The process of building and carrying rocks can weigh up to 2 tons and a half on the top of the tower, making scientists 'scratch their heads' for several centuries. Now, archaeologists have found by extremely convincing, explaining the way in which ancient Egyptians transported these huge rocks away from the road over 800 km to build the tomb of Pharaoh Khufu.

With a height of 146 meters, this is the largest pyramid and until the Middle Ages, this is still the largest artificial construction on Earth. Archaeologists recently discovered a piece of ancient papyrus paper, a wooden boat and an ingenious irrigation system that helped reveal the mystery of Giza's construction process.

The papyrus piece was recorded by a supervisor of the Merer name. He is the manager of 40 craftsmen and accurately describes every construction process to bring stones from Tura to Giza.

To transport more than 170,000 tons of stone to build pyramids, skilled craftsmen placed them on wooden boats along the Nile. 3D images also show that wooden boats are tightly tied with ropes and help them with the weight of more than 2 tons of rocks.

The canal system built to the feet of the pyramid makes it easy to move. Granite in the pyramid was dug from Aswan, more than 800 km away and limestone moved from Tura, 15 km away.

Archaeologist Mark Lehner, a leading expert in the field, discovered evidence of a lost canal beneath the Giza plateau. This is considered an ancient vestige of the canal to help build stone pyramids.

Mark said: 'We have redrawn the canal scheme and this is the most important system for bringing stones to the Giza plateau'.
