Find out the source of strange signals from red dwarfs

Signals that spark speculations about aliens are essentially radio waves of a distant satellite.

Astronomers identify signals called "Strange!" (Weird) discovers from Ross 128 , a dim red dwarf star 11 light years from Earth, not created by aliens, Business Insider reported on July 22. This radio signal source is a remote satellite.

Last week, the Arecibo observatory in Puerto Rico for the first time received a signal for radio wave outbreaks. Researchers cannot confirm this source of radio waves because of the Sun's unusual activity, because objects move in front of a star or interference from radio communications.

"However, many people are more interested in the hypothesis that the signals may be hidden evidence of an intelligent intelligence civilization," said Abel Mendez, director of the Planetary Life Laboratory. University of Puerto Rico, said.

After consulting with the world's leading experts in life search in the SETI universe at the Berkeley Research Center, University of California, Mendez's group made the final conclusion."Now we are sure of the origin of the" Strange! "Signal. The most appropriate explanation is the signal generated by interference in one or more geostationary satellites ," Mendez said.

The signals only appear around Ross 128 star because it is near the celestial equator, where many geostationary satellites are concentrated.
