The giant penguin that lived 40 million years ago is about the size of the emperor penguin, with a height of about 2m from the foot to the nose.

With the height of standing up to 1.6m - 2.02m if including the long nose, Palaeeudyptes klekowskii is the highest penguin species ever known in Earth's history.
According to Dr. Carolina Acosta Hospitaleche of La Plata Museum (Argentina), fossils are found on Seymour Island, belonging to the archipelago chain off the Antarctic Peninsula.

In addition to the record-breaking height, Palaeeudyptes klekowskii weighs more than 115kg, which is double the average weight of the Emperor penguin.
