Finding the arsenal of Tsar Ivan the Terrible
Russian scientists found the arsenal from 1547 filled with swords, bows, armor and shields, belonging to Tsar Ivan the Terrible.
According to the International Business Times, the number of 16th-century equipment was hidden in the basement of a house in the village of Ignatievskoe, near Zvenigorod, in the Moscow suburbs of Russia. The arsenal consists of headwear placed in leather boxes, swords for soldiers, belts, bows and a type of armor called kolchugs . However, the most important finding with archaeologists is the sharp-headed hats .

"They are the popular headgear of Russian knights - spherical hats encrusted with gold and silver. Some similar hats are on display in the Kremlin Museum, the Hermitage Museum and the National Museum of History. This excavation allows us to visualize the preparation of the upper class aristocrats in the Russian army, "said Alexei Alexeyev, excavation scientist.
The team discovered the arsenal while excavating near the newly built Central Circular Highway in the area. Excavations help discover 60 houses. The arsenal is housed in an underground wooden warehouse in the west of the village.

The discovery made researchers believe that an army was prepared to fight. However, due to the location of the storage in the basement of a house, this number was never used outside the battlefield and was left behind after the house was on fire.
Ivan the Terror was the Grand Duke of Moscow from 1533 to 1547. After that, he became Tsar (emperor) and ruled Russia until his death in 1584 at the age of 53. Ivan IV Vasilyevich was named is Tyrant because of paranoia and mental instability. The Novogorod massacre caused nearly 30,000 deaths as an example of Tsar Ivan's unpredictable personality.
