Flower whales are stranded in New Zealand
New Zealand environmentalists are desperately trying on Saturday to save 18 pepper whales long fin after they run aground. As a result, seven children died.
According to the director of the Regional Environment Department, John Mason: "The survivors can float on the sea, but too weak to swim."
These whales simultaneously ran aground on Friday afternoon in New Zealand's South Island from a group of about 70 fish that appeared on Golden Bay. Stranded whales are common in this area.
Two months ago, 47 whales died after being stranded by low tide in the area near Nelson's tourist city. The long fin whale whale, about 6 meters in size, is the most common whale in the waters surrounding New Zealand.
