Fossilized shrimp named Michael Jackson

Some international paleontologists have recently found a rare organism in northern Spain. They named the borrowed shrimp variety according to the King of Pop Michael Jackson.

The discovery report was published in the German scientific journal Neues Jahrbuch für Geologie und Paläontologie in January 2012.

Fossilized shrimp is called Mesoparapylocheles michaeljacksoni .

This indigenous shrimp lives in the middle of the Cretaceous, when the dinosaurs dominate the continents. They have the family name of Parapylocheles scorpio living in today's Indian and Pacific Oceans.

According to scientists, fossilized shrimp shells are more rare than true crabs. Today, scientists know about ten species of shrimps, and a lot of information related to the flowering process of this group of creatures has not been discovered.
