Fran Lockhart, a member of the John Muir Trust organization, caught this animal on the camera. She described it as "a ghost-like creature".

White deer is still a powerful image in myths of many cultures. Even the Celts considered them as messengers from another world. They are often mistaken for albino disease. The researchers say their unusual appearance is due to leucism, a rare gene that causes pigment depletion on hair and skin.

Unlike albinism, which is characterized by red eyes, deer carry the leucism gene with normal eye color.

Last year, a white deer in the UK was discovered in the state of being cut off by a poacher. The farmers have kept quiet about its accommodation for many years to protect this animal.
