Fresh water made from ... eel
A carbonated beverage made from new eels launched in Japan, to help people refresh in the summer sun.
Product named Surging Eel created by Japanese Tobacco company. " It is primarily for men who are exhausted by the hot heat ," said company spokesman Kazunori Hayashi.
The yellow drink contains extracts from the head and bone of the eel, along with five other vitamins in the organism.
In Japan, the demand for eel consumption is very high. It is usually made into a 'kaba-yaki' dish, in which the eel is grilled and sprinkled with sauce.
This 140 yen drink is only 1/10 of grilled eel but has a similar flavor.
