E-Volo, the German startup company, is expected to launch the VoloCopter 2X taxi fleet in 2018.

The E-Volo startup company is testing the taxi service. This project will compete with similar products of Uber, Airbus or Zee Aero sponsored by Google.

Called the Volocopter 2X , this aircraft has 18 rotor, capacity of 2 people and extremely quiet operation. It can fly upright and recharge for 40 minutes with a quick charger.

Volocopter 2X can reach speeds of up to 100km / h in a limited time.

The 2X Volocopter is not a moving vehicle. The power supplied from 9 batteries only allows it to fly in 17 minutes at 69km / h.

This helicopter was approved as a lightweight vehicle in Germany. That means that anyone with a sports license in Germany can control them. E-volo is also planning to use the aircraft for its pilot taxi program next year.

In the future, the Volocopter 2X will come with a sensor, allowing it to fly automatically. However, next year, the pilot will still control it.
