Germany developed smart textile yarn
In the future, there will be smart clothes to help doctors measure heart rate, control the body's water content or blood pressure.
Within the framework of ' Microsystems ', the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) has funded 15 million euros for the development of smart textile yarns.
Industry and research show about 50 new development projects, of which 12 are supported. The most promising areas of application will be public health and security.
The tiny sensors will be installed inside the bandages to monitor the development and recovery of the wound. Fireman's protective suits will be able to automatically adjust the climate's conditioning level.
BMBF also encourages the development of new technologies in textiles such as new sensors, sparkling yarns as well as assembly and manufacturing techniques.
