The amount of glucose in the body fluctuates when people perform regular activities such as exercise, eating or even sweating. Increasing or decreasing glucose levels suddenly is not uncommon. They are very dangerous and need to be monitored closely.

Google's high-tech contact lenses will measure the amount of glucose in the user's tears once a second. A set of wireless chips and micro-glucose sensors are placed between two layers of contact lenses. In addition, Google also intends to equip a small LED to tell users when the glucose has exceeded or lower than the specified level.

Google says the new glasses are in beta. Its partners will also be providing source code for application development, serving users and physician followers.
