'Grasshopper Clouds' rises in the Middle East

The Israeli government issued a warning to the locusts after the giant grasshoppers flocked in Egypt.

Countless grasshoppers have appeared in Egypt. That situation makes many people predict they will fly to Israel.

The Israeli Ministry of Agriculture established a hotline from March 4 and urged people to report authorities immediately if they saw locusts moving in flocks. Officials hope the hotline will help them stop the grasshopper expansion, the AP reported.

Grasshoppers are terrifying enemies to farmers, because they can destroy food crops on a large scale in a short time.

The warning of the Israeli government was sold right before the Passover festival, an event organized by Christians in general and Jewish people in particular to celebrate the Jewish migration from Egypt in the Bible. According to the Bible, the locust pandemic is one of the 10 pandemics that God descended on Egypt to punish the Egyptian pharaohs who enslaved and mistreated the ancient Jews.
