Heart shaped on Mars volcano

The images recorded from NASA's Mars probe spacecraft show a heart-shaped structure on the volcano of the red planet.

Discovery News said the heart-shaped geological structure was discovered in the southern region of the giant volcano Ascraeus Mons , near the Tharsis Bulge plateau, a large volcanic region of the red planet. The image is captured from the HiRISE camera located on the Mars Exploration Spacecraft (MRO) of the US Aerospace Agency (NASA).

It is approximately 200m wide, multi-storey and higher than the surrounding landscape. Heart shape can be formed during the eruption of volcanic lava.

Experts say this could be an ancient volcanic eruption structure (located on the ground, where volcanic lava erupts), which is more resistant to heat and less eroded than surrounding areas.

This form of terrain often appears in some surfaces that are not affected by erosion. As the lava layer cools and the surrounding surfaces erode, the multi-layered structure causes the layers of the wood to gradually improve and form a heart-shaped geological structure.
