Heavy rains in northern South Africa last weekend caused water in the Limpopo River, the second largest river in the country, to overflow. Floods caused about 15,000 crocodiles in a farm in Limpopo province to escape. They hide into the bushes or float into the Limpopo River, Beeld reported.

"Some crocodiles used to live in the Limpopo River. Now their numbers have skyrocketed. We try to catch them whenever people announce their location. For example, some people say they see fish. in the football field of a school about 120 kilometers from the farm , " said Zane Langman, the farmer's son-in-law.

Langman said he had to rush to a friend's house by motorboat on January 20.

"When we arrived at that house, alligators were swimming around them. Thank God they were still alive , " Langman said.

South Africa's air force participated in relief activities for people affected by floods in remote areas. High water makes many areas isolated from the outside world. Floods also affected neighboring Mozambique, where tens of thousands of people were evacuated.
