Hero dog, sacrificing himself to save the owner from poisonous snakes

A brave dog alone killed 4 poisonous snakes, saving his master's life.

The Deccan Chronicle said on Monday night earlier this week, a group of four-headed mountain cobra tried to break into the home of the owner, Dibakar Raita, in Sebekapur village, Gajapati district, Odisha state, India. The snakes, believed to creep into the house to find a drier shelter.

Luckily for the family, their Doberman-like dog promptly spotted snakes, biting them to death but was poisoned and did not survive.

Witnesses recounted that the fierce battle took a long time, with a lot of blood spilling from the dog's wound and the snakes. The Dibakar Raita family said they were still not shocked after the incident.

" I was very shocked. The dog sacrificed himself to save me and my family. I will always remember him until the end of his life. God let the dog rest soon ," Dibakar said.

Touched by the sacrifice of the brave dog, the villagers brought wreaths to their bodies and held a funeral before burial.
