Video: Australian poisonous snake collapses mouse trap

An Australian man sitting in the house surfing the Internet was startled to discover a rat snakes trap.

"I came home around 17:00, had a cup of coffee and went online. While I was surfing the Internet, I heard the sound of a rat trap falling down," Anthony Parker recalled on the afternoon of January 18. He lives in Cascade, Western Australia.

"Turning my head, I glanced and jumped from the chair when I saw a snake writhing in a mousetrap only three meters away from me , " Western Australia Today quoted Parker. "I suppose it is trying to escape by biting the trap. Maybe he thinks the trap is a living thing."

The whole family went out to play on the weekend. His wife set a few mousetrap earlier because of the sound of rats in the house. Perhaps the mice attracted the snake.

Parker freed the snake from "suffering" by killing it, because of a small child in the house.
