Unesco's Scientific, Educational and Cultural Organization has recognized the historic center of the Austrian city of Salzburg as a World Cultural Heritage in 1996.

Salzburg is the capital of Salzburg state in the Republic of Austria. With a population of 150,269 Salzburg residents are the fourth largest city of Austria after Vienna, Graz and Linz.
