How does NASA recruit astronauts?

NASA Space Agency (USA) is the place where the process of selecting and coaching the most astronaut astronauts. Currently, NASA has an elite team of 135 members, mostly men.

The prerequisite that NASA still requires is that the pilot must be an airplane pilot for the US Air Force or aviation, maritime, or aviation engineer. However, senior scientists in other fields also have the opportunity to be trained as mission specialists.

To be recruited, an astronaut must meet certain conditions such as having at least a maritime aviation engineer, biology, physics or math engineer. Candidates must have at least 1,000 flight hours and most are experienced in pilot aircraft testing.

All candidates must undergo a strict health examination, especially with 20/20 vision, maximum blood pressure of 14/9, minimum height of 1m6 and a maximum of 1m9.

Mission experts do not need to experience flying a plane. Once selected, the candidates must undergo an intense training and theory training for a period of 18 months to 2 years. This practice primarily prepares complex shuttle missions, especially the construction of the International Space Station (ISS).
