How long does sperm live outside the body?
Sperm survives only 15-30 minutes outside the body but if it is in the mouth, it can last 1-2 days.
Sperm survival time became a controversial topic on social networks after a female student named Mariah (USA) posted a story in the classroom. She wrote: "Today we took the microscope to check the mouth and discovered a girl with sperm in it".

To clarify whether the story is true or not, Men's Health contacted Dr. Brian Steixner, urologist and director of the Southern Institute of Jersey Urology Clinic system.
According to Dr. Steixner, sperm live about 3-5 days between warm environments , protected like the uterus or cervix but quickly die if left from the body. "In places outside like on a table, they only last 15-30 minutes , " he said.
Besides, Dr. Steixner said that the mouth can be considered a favorable environment for sperm to live, so the case of female students mentioned by Mariah is likely to be true. "Scientifically, the mouth temperature is warmer than the outside air, so sperm easily stays there for 1-2 days," explained the expert.
Mariah's article continues to attract the attention of the community with more than 2,000 comments, 113,000 shares and 480,000 likes. An account expressed, "I don't know if I should be impressed or not."
