How to handle spam issues in Google Drive
Google Drive is a 'cloud' hosting service with many users, but it has spam problems. These spammers can share files that automatically appear in your Drive and there's no way to stop it.
What is happening with Google Drive?
The script is a person who sends spam to share files or folders with you. This file or folder immediately appears in the "Quick Access" quick access area in your drive ( as well as in the "Shared with you" section) . You can't prevent this from happening and you don't have to accept sharing. It automatically shows up whether you want it or not. These files are not automatically added to Drive and therefore are not downloaded or synced automatically with your device.
Now, you can right-click on the file or item and select in the Remove (Remove) list to prevent it from being displayed in the "Shared with me" section , but it will continue to display in the area "Quick Access " and search results. If you accidentally open a file or folder, it will be re-added to Drive on your web.
Google Drive is a 'cloud' hosting service with many users, but it has spam problems.
Why is this a problem?
There are many shortcomings, but this is a pretty big problem. The first is getting spam. Users may be "thrown" bullshit they don't want over time.
The second problem may be more common: when you don't want to be part of a shared file / folder, because there's no way to remove yourself from a shared file / folder, you get "stuck" with it. This can be particularly troublesome if files / folders are shared from an old person that you no longer want or want to contact.
Google Drive currently does not provide blocking. Even if you block someone in Gmail, it doesn't block them in Drive. It's common for Google services, if you block someone in a service, doesn't mean they're blocked at any other service. This makes your Drive for a long time become a mess.
Handling like?
Unfortunately there are not many things you can do. You cannot prevent people from sharing files or folders with you, and you cannot delete yourself from shared episodes when they enter again, if shared files are set to view only.
However, you can right-click on the file and select "Remove" in the drop-down menu to hide it from your "Shared with me" list. But as mentioned, the file or folder will still display in the search results and your "Quick Access" area . Although it doesn't fix it thoroughly, it is better than you do nothing.
How to check sharing privileges
How do you know which privileges you have in a specific shared file / folder? First, right-click on the file / folder in Google Drive, then select "View Details".
If you see your profile picture with anyone who has shared it, you have editorial privileges and can remove yourself from those shared episodes. If you only see their profile picture, you can only see it and you are "stuck" with it.
How to mark the file as spam
You can also mark shared files as spam, but this feature only works with Google Docs (Docs, Sheet, Slide .).
To do this, open the supposedly garbage document, then click "Help" . From there, select "Report abuse / copyright".
On the next page, select Spam as the violation you are reporting and then click the "Submit Report" button . The report file is still in your Drive but it will disappear about 4-5 days later. Do it with the remaining junk files so you don't have to receive it again later.
