If the sea water suddenly evaporated at the same time, the Earth would fall into an unimaginable disaster. What is that?

The oceans hold 97% of the planet's water, while the remaining 3% is held in rivers, lakes, groundwater, and even ice caps. However, if the Earth's oceans evaporated, this 3% would not be enough to replace the loss.

In fact, the world's oceans act like a global climate control system . They absorb much of the Sun's heat and distribute it evenly across the Earth. This way, no area of ​​the planet gets too hot or too cold.

In addition, the oceans also contribute to maintaining the water cycle , evaporating into clouds and then returning rain to Earth.

Water on Earth goes through a very wonderful cycle. Rain flows into rivers and carries that water to the oceans. Finally, the water evaporates back into the clouds.

In fact, water vapor in the atmosphere is one of the reasons why the Earth is habitable. However, it also accounts for half of the greenhouse effect that causes the atmosphere to warm.

According to scientists, there are about 38 quadrillion gallons of water vapor in the atmosphere . Therefore, if all of this water vapor condensed and fell to Earth at the same time, humans would receive 3 centimeters of rain across the planet.

But soon there will be more steam because we are going to try to increase the temperature until we reach boiling point.

As the oceans begin to warm, the air will inevitably feel sticky, hot, and heavy. With such high humidity, the human body will struggle to cool down. Because the moisture stays on the skin longer, people can begin to suffer from heat exhaustion.

That's not the only problem. Humans will be caught in a vicious cycle. As the heat spreads across the oceans, the atmosphere will become overloaded with water vapor. This will make everything hotter. The Earth will absorb more energy from the Sun than it returns to space. As a result, humans are on the verge of a greenhouse effect, and everything around them will get hotter.

At that point, temperatures across the globe will begin to level out and the poles will become warmer. The polar ice caps and mountain glaciers will melt. This will cause sea levels to rise by about 70 meters. Floods will destroy coastal cities around the world. This disaster will displace hundreds of millions of people around the world. Rising sea levels will make things worse, as the oceans will warm and evaporate faster. At this point, all life on the blue planet will begin to disappear.

Marine life would obviously be the first victims after the oceans evaporated. Then the Earth would slowly heat up until it became Venus. Any remaining water on the planet would evaporate and this would cause humans to die of dehydration.

Most animals would go extinct without water. After a few days, plants would also give up trying to survive without water.

A few weeks later, the same thing will happen to the forests . Eventually, they will catch fire and continue to burn until there is no more vegetation left. In about a year, the Earth will be lifeless. Without water, perhaps, there will be no chance of creating life.

According to scientists, climate change is likely to affect the amount of water vapor in the atmosphere in the coming decades. As global temperatures rise, the amount of water evaporating from the surface will increase and the amount of water vapor in the atmosphere will also increase. Then, with more water vapor in the atmosphere, it will contribute to the heat and enhance the greenhouse effect. As a result, global warming could increase rapidly.
