Impressive photos of Saturn
The US Cassini probe has sent unique images of Saturn with belts that look new. In the past two months, Cassini has filmed and photographed Saturn from the top and bottom of the planet.
" These are the pictures we have been waiting for for years ," said scientist Carolyn Porco, in charge of the optical machine of the probe of the Space Science Institute (SSI) Boulder in Colorado (USA).
'Flying to the top of Saturn and seeing its rings appear like a giant bronze touch that feels like exploring an entirely new world . this surprised us'.
Images are sent to all black and white, some other images are colored. The ship also filmed a video showing the belts appearing gradually as the train moved from south to north above the planet.
In collaboration with NASA, ESA (European Space Agency) and Italian Space Agency, the 2.5 billion euro Cassini-Huygens mission is the first space mission to explore Saturn and satellites. of this planet. The ship Cassini was launched in 1997 and after an operation of 3.5 billion km in 7 years, the ship entered Saturn's orbit on 1 July 2004.
