The National Institute of Animal Husbandry is researching to breed buffaloes with Murah buffalo (India) to increase the size of domestic buffalo herds.

The National Institute of Animal Husbandry has studied the method of buffalo breeding with Murah buffalo (India) to increase the size of the buffalo herd that tends to decrease in volume because many years have not been paid attention to breed improvement.

Through the experiment for domestic female buffalo to reproduce 1 litter, mating the sperm of Murah buffalo.

After spawning, hybrid buffaloes increase in accordance with the law, 36 months of age reach 440-450 kg, however the fertilization rate is only 33.5%.

For Murah buffalo bulls to coordinate directly with domestic female buffalo, conception rate reached 70.5%.

The Center for Mountain Research and Development of the Institute has also completed the process of grafting a cross-bred hybrid with a hybrid of a buffalo herd to create herds and reproduce.
