Japan is about to launch a moon probe
Japan prepares to launch the first probe around the Moon with the intention of establishing a permanent base on the planet in 2025.
The Kaguya probe will be launched by the H-2A missile from the small island of Tanegashima in the Pacific Ocean scheduled for September 14.
The ship is equipped with 14 observation instruments to study the surface and properties of the Moon, collecting data on the origin and evolution of this Earth's satellite. Kaguya will also bring a high-resolution camera to shoot the Earth ' rising ' at the Moon's horizon and send images to Earth.
The probe will stay in orbit around the Moon for a year until the fuel runs out.
