Japan: Kyocera introduces a self-made music toothbrush model

On July 3 in Tokyo, Kyocera Corporation introduced a new generation of toothbrush prototypes that can emit music without loudspeakers called Possi. This is a product developed by Kyocera with Lion Group under Sony's Startup Promotion Program (SSAP).

Possi designers have attached an exclusive Kyocera piezoelectric ceramic device and an audio amplifier to the tip of the brush to turn electrical signals into vibrations that transmit music directly to the user. No need to use external speakers. As a result, users can enjoy music while brushing their teeth.

Designers say Possi is primarily aimed at young children. So, with music, Possi has a very special design to help young children feel excited when brushing their teeth. As a result, the practice for parents brushing their teeth becomes easier.

Kyocera and Lion are expected to start mobilizing capital for mass production of Possi tea in Japan from July 3 through 'First Flight' , a Sony e-commerce website and public funding.

Founded in 1959, Kyocera started in the ceramic industry. Currently, Kyocera is one of the leading suppliers of industrial and automotive components, electronics, solar power generation systems, copiers and mobile phones in Japan.

In 2018, Kyocera joined Sony's SSAP, with the aim of creating innovative businesses and products. Through SSAP, Sony will provide the systematic knowledge and experience necessary to accelerate the process of commercializing new products. Possi is one of the outstanding products of this program.
