Jerry Mouse doesn't like cheese
Contrary to the funny images in the animated film Tom and Jerry, the mice do not like cheese.
Instead, they like high-sugar foods like cereals, fruits and will turn their noses in front of smelly things like cheese, scientists in Manchester, England.
" It's clear that rats like cheese are just a public imagination. The mouse has evolved without cheese or anything like that," said animal scientist David Holmes at Metropolitan University . .
Mice react to the smell, taste and texture of food. Cheese is something that is not available in their natural environment so they will not react to it.
