According to Reuters, a new generation of robots has appeared in Japan, can show 36 different facial expressions when listening to a keyword or a sentence in English. Kansei, the name of the robot, is a research project of Meiji University (Japan) with the original intention of creating a robot that can increase the ability to communicate with its owners.
Kansei has 19 moving controls under a silicone mask. When hearing the word " president ", the database of 500,000 keywords directly connected to the network will select related words such as " Bush ", " war ", " Iraq " . and Kansei will expressing a face mixed between fear and disgust.
The robot will laugh if you hear the word " sushi ", frowning when you hear someone mention the word " bomb ". Researchers hope that after a few years, Kansei will be able to speak and express emotions with actions.
