Learning a new language: Just shake your wrist lightly, vocabulary will appear
The e-FlashCard product suite is expected to improve the method of learning traditional paper vocabulary, which helps learners acquire different languages quickly and effectively.
The e-FlashCard e-card is the result after 40 hours of hard work of 6 young people who are studying and working in the information technology industry: Nguyen Anh Dung, Vo Thanh Dat, Dang Cong Tan, Doan Anh, Ngo Thien Duc and Nguyen Thi Van Quynh at the Mobile Hackathon 2017 .
'The idea of e-FlashCard was born from practicing Japanese exam. When learning Japanese, learners have to check dozens of Kanji (PV) in the reading comprehension by handwriting every word of the word on the application in the phone dictionary, which is very time-consuming and labor-intensive. of learners. That's why I think of an application that can help search all vocabulary in the fastest way , 'said Nguyen Anh Dung, team leader.

The structure of the e-FlashCard includes an electronic flashcard integrated on the phone (software) and an electronic wrist device (hardware). In it, the device's hardware is a motherboard designed to extend the functionality of the embedded Raspberry Pi Zero computer circuit. This hardware includes charging circuit, audio amplifier circuit, microcontroller circuit and angular acceleration sensor. The device's software is built on the Linux operating system, and written in java and python programming languages.
To use the device, the user just needs to pick up the electronic card, shake his right hand to see the next word or shake it left to see the previous word, tilt the card slightly forward to show the meaning of the word, turn the card back My side to hide the translation meaning and transcription of that word.

When the device is in operation, the angle acceleration sensor will measure the angle around the two rotating axes of the neck movement, and then transmit the signal to the application on the java platform to perform the above functions.
The e-FlashCard suite is expected to improve the method of learning traditional paper vocabulary, help learners acquire different languages quickly and effectively, accelerating the process of learning new words .
However, according to the research team, because the time to complete the product is only 2 days, the device still has many points to be improved such as: need to integrate the pronunciation and image features to recall the vocabulary when learning and improving improve the size of electronic cards and upgrade servers to save data.
'For the time being, my group plans to complete the e-FlashCard application running on iOS and Android operating systems so that the language learning community can soon be used. After that, we will improve the specialized e-FlashCard products, develop the idea of other flashcard iOT products to apply in teaching, ' Dung said.
At the Mobile Hackathon 2017, the idea of e-FlashCard e-card won the Comprehensive Prize - the highest award of the contest.
Sharing about the journey of the project at the Mobile Hackathon 2017, Dung said: 'The most difficult for the team when implementing the project in the Mobile Hackathon 2017 is the pressure on time, only 40 hours clock for members to complete the product, in which programmers must constantly sleep so that the product works. Thanks to suggestions from the mentors of the competition, Mr. Nguyen Trinh and Mr. Pham Cao Khoi and the support from Vo Nhu Phuong Thao - the group's companion at the competition, the final product has been completed '.
At the Mobile Hackathon 2017, the idea of e-FlashCard e-card won the Comprehensive Prize - the highest award of the contest. This is a competition organized by the Central Google Developer community (GDG MienTrung) in collaboration with the Danang Business Incubator, in which each entry is required to apply at least one Google technology to operate. .
