Letter auction on Einstein's God

The letter demonstrating the views of genius physicist Albert Einstein on the existence of God will be auctioned on eBay on October 8 with a starting price of three million USD.

About a year before his death, Einstein wrote a letter to Eric B. Gutkind, a Jewish philosopher, on January 3, 1954. The letter is a way to show Einstein's reaction to a book entitled 'Choose Life: The Biblical Call to Revolt'. In the book, Gutkind thinks that the hearts of the majority of humanity are becoming depressed by delusion. However, Gutkin affirmed that Jews are an exception.

Livescience quotes a piece that Einstein wrote in the letter: 'For me, Judaism and all other religions are the embodiments of the most innocent superstitions. And I also think that the Jews, the people I am honored to be a member of, do not have any qualities that are different from other peoples. My experience shows that Jews are not superior to any other nation. I do not see any point that makes Jews an object for God to choose to be his own people ',

Einstein's letter is preserved in a room that can control the temperature, light and humidity of a research institute, eBay said. Because the scientific community has known its existence for more than 50 years, its authenticity has never been a controversial issue.

The initial price of the letter is 3 million USD. Everyone can join the auction on eBay.

'This is one of the most important and historical things we've ever put on eBay. We feel excited to give a certain person or organization the opportunity to own one of the most intriguing materials of the 20th century. This personal letter from Einstein shows the connection between science, theology, reasoning and culture ' , Eric Gazin, president of the auction company Auction Cause in the US, said.

The eminent physicist does not believe that God exists. In a letter dated March 24, 1954, he wrote: 'I never believed in God and I never denied it but expressed it clearly. My religion is the admiration of the structure of the surrounding world. '
