Light source for deep space

Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson has worked with engineer Frederick Ottesen to create a light bulb called the 'little sun' with the hope of bringing light to developing countries. development , remote areas without national grid.

The 'small sun' solar array, which measures 6 x 6 cm using LED technology, captures solar energy through a single crystal optical module. After 4 hours of charging, this lamp can provide 5 hours of continuous nighttime lighting. The design for this product is very flexible, can be used as a table lamp, lantern, hanging on the wall or attached to the bike to go in the dark. Lamp life expectancy is three years.

It is estimated that around 1.6 billion people in the world live in difficult conditions without access to electricity. Olafur plans to showcase 'small sun' products at the Tate Modern in London at the pre-Olympics this year.
