All saline solutions, including tears, can generate electricity for GH-LED10WBW lamps.

GH-LED10WBW, the name of the LED that generates electricity with salt solution, can glow in 8 hours with 350ml of salt water. You can also connect lights to small devices with USB wires to power them. This unique lamp is the invention of Green House, a Japanese IT product manufacturer, Gizmodo reported.

Andrew Liszewski, an expert of Gizmodo magazine, explained that GH-LED10WBW contains magnesium and carbon bars. The bars are submerged in salt solution, which acts as an electrolyte. In theory, all saline solutions - including tears - can generate electricity for lamps.

Green House announced it would launch new lights on the market in mid-September, but did not disclose the price. Its birth is the first step in the strategy of producing environmentally friendly products to reduce air pollution, waste and waste water. However, the magnesium bars in the lamp only produce electricity for 120 hours. This drawback can make it less attractive than rechargeable batteries.

LED, short for Light-Emitting-Diode, is a light source that glows when electric current impacts it. Operation of LED based on semiconductor technology. In a semiconductor diode block, electrons move from a state of high energy to a state of lower energy and this energy difference creates different forms of light. The color of the LED depends on the semiconductor compound and is characterized by the wavelength of the light emitted.
