Magnetic storms can interfere with information from satellites
Every year there are many storms from affecting the Earth. Depending on the intensity, storms will affect telecommunications, satellite information (loss of signal, disturbance of information) and people with cardiovascular disease.

Scientists recommend that people should not be too confused by the news that there will be a storm from intense, changing lives in 2013, because the storm from this will be weaker than in 2001.
Forecast 30 minutes in advance
Recently, scientists from the US Aeronautics and Space Agency (NASA) warned that a storm of words could potentially affect the earth. This has caused concern for many people.
According to Dr. Le Huy Minh, the Deputy Director in charge (Institute of Geophysics - Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology) explains that on the surface of the sun, black marks often appear, exploding plasma beams. When the plasma beams are released and the earth will affect the earth's magnetosphere, causing magnetic storms.
Magnetic storms are not a rare phenomenon that occurs every year. Usually about 11 years will occur a strong storm. In terms of numbers, statistics from the Institute of Geophysics show that in 1989, there were many storms with 44 matches. In 2000 there were 40 storms from and 2007, 2008 with about 10 matches / year.
Mr. Minh said, in 2001, the magnetic storm was at its maximum and cyclical, then 2013 will be the next peak, not this year. And, the storm from 2013 will be weaker than in 2001.
Associate Professor, Dr. Ha Duyen Chau, senior researcher of the Institute of Geophysics, said NASA satellites have recorded a huge explosion of spheres on the surface of the Sun. However, it takes another 20-30 hours, plasma beams can travel from the Sun to Earth.
But, not just approaching the Earth, these plasma beams will cause storms from which many plasma beams need special conditions to create magnetic storms.
When a magnetic storm occurs, 100% of the Earth will be affected. At this time, Mr. Chau said, the time and scale of the storm from above were not determined by NASA's satellite can only predict the storm from 30 minutes before.
People with cardiovascular disease should be cautious
The storm from 'landing' on Earth, depending on the level, will cause some damage. Mr. Nguyen Duc Phuong, a member of the Vietnam Astronomical Society, said that under the direct impact of magnetic storms, people with cardiovascular disease will be affected with the feeling of fatigue.
According to Associate Professor Ha Duyen Chau, magnetic storms with a small intensity of less than 200 nT (nano Tesla) often do not cause adverse effects . However, if magnetic storms with strong intensity can affect health, especially those people with cardiovascular and neurological diseases.
At the same time, Dr. Le Huy Minh said that scientists in the world have had statistics, when there are magnetic storms, people with cardiovascular diseases often get more hospitalization. However, the mechanism of the impact of storms from patients to how no research has found.
In this case, if to avoid magnetic storms, the above patients must be in an iron cage (Farraday cage). In Vietnam, this problem is very difficult so 'better than that, the days of magnetic storms, cardiovascular patients should stay at home and someone closely monitors to take timely measures,' Minh advised.
In addition, strong magnetic storms are also likely to affect transmission lines and oil pipelines. In 1989, the magnetic storm had paralyzed a power transmission system in Canada, causing billions of dollars in damage.
One of the most noticeable damages caused by storms is the impact on satellites, loss of signal transmission, information disturbance.
When asked about whether satellite data was broken, Mr. Minh said that when designing satellites, scientists had calculated that the magnetic storm could not be damaged. But the problem of problems can happen.
