Malaysia has abandoned plans to brew tea in space when the country's first astronaut boarded the International Space Station (ISS) next year. This decision came after criticism that Malaysia had wasted money to bring people into space.
In September, Malaysia announced it would send its first astronaut into space on a Russian spacecraft. This astronaut will have the mission to make this country's favorite tea teh tarik. However, this plan was broken.
Instead, astronauts will conduct experiments for universities to see how the radiation in space affects cancer cells. In addition, astronauts will bring Malaysian types of vegetables and herbs to research to prepare dishes for astronauts.
