On February 10, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology in collaboration with the Asian Biotechnology Federation (AFOB) organized a regional biotechnology symposium.

The conference attracted more than 60 professors, doctors, researchers from countries and territories such as Korea, Japan, China, Thailand, India, Pakistan, Taiwan (China) and 40 Vietnamese professors and researchers.

Delegates from countries, territories of Korea, Thailand, Japan, India and Taiwan presented 54 reports on medicine, bioenergy technology, biopharmaceuticals, alcohol production. biology and some nano-related technologies.

Vietnamese delegates introduced 10 topics focusing on contents such as gene evaluation of patients with stomach cancer, studying methods to inhibit and reduce the metastasis of cancer cells, development of extracellular protein expression system in Bacillus microbial cell system.

Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Biotechnology Center Duong Hoa Xo said that this is the third time AFOB has organized a biology conference. The conference is a form of scientific activities for biotech researchers from countries to exchange, exchange and report on the latest results in the field they study. This activity will help Vietnam access new information on biotechnology of countries, especially in Asia.
